Yesterday evening and this morning, members of Civil Consciousness Liberty NGO organized a protest campaign titled #Super_Garbage_Mayor in different administrative districts of Yerevan against the mayor of Yerevan city, Hayk Marutyan.
Hayk Marutyan has not yet redeemed his election promise to solve the problem of garbage disposal. Moreover, during his tenure, the issue has deepened, as a result of which, there is no shortage of garbage in different parts of the city. The situation is the consequence of Hayk Marutyan’s dilettantism. Despite the fact, that Hayk Marutyan constantly avoids taking the blame for the problem of garbage disposal upon him and accuses Sanitek LLC, he has to assume sole responsibility for the situation. Rumors are flying that the reasons for the problem of garbage disposal being unsolvable are conditioned by corruption risk. Studies on those risks are underway, and the public will be informed about the results.
Apparently, Hayk Marutyan may even be resigning due to the issues around garbage disposal and related problems in the city.
The participants of the campaign have walked in the Arabkir, Kanaker-Zeytun, Kentron, Ajapnyak, Davtashen, Shengavit administrative districts and discovered more than 100 garbage carts, which and the areas surrounding them were full of garbage. The participants put posters with Hayk Marutyan’s photos on around 70 carts as a sign that Hayk Marutyan was responsible for the problem of garbage disposal.
The participants of the campaign uploaded the photos of the garbage carts with Hayk Marutyan’s photos on them to Facebook as well.
The photos of the #Super_Garbage_Mayor protest campaign, published by the members of the Civil Consciousness Liberal NGO on Facebook, were collected by AntiFake.am, which we present below in a photo album.
