(VIDEO) Public TV has already started the campaign for the ruling party

Yesterday, during the "Lurer" ("News") program of the Public TV, a reportage was published about the early parliamentary elections assessing the possibilities of the Civil Contract party, a member of the ruling bloc in the Armenian Parliament.

The reportage states that "there is a consensus among experts – the results of elections are predictable, then claims that polls and observations show that "difference between the Civil Contract and other political forces is huge".

It should be noted that the experts presented in the report do not excel with their impartial attitude.

The reportage is accompanied mainly by the footages of Nikol Pashinyan's regional visits-campaigns, and only the last minute of the almost 3-minute-video "covers" the political aims of other political forces. This footage violates the principles of objectivity, impartiality, equal coverage.

The other forces that applied to run in the elections are described as "forces against Pashinyan."

In contrast to the silence about the apparent violations of the ruling power, referring to experts, the author of the reportage states that the Prosperous Armenia Party will invest all its resources, including financial, the leverage to influence the workers to be in Parliament.

Even though there is no official announcement about the snap parliamentary elections, and the President did not announce the date yet, Public Television has already started a biased campaign favouring the ruling party, of course, at the expense of taxpayers. If Public Television has begun covering the pre-campaign events in the country in such a way, we can only imagine how the state TV channel will cover the pre-election struggle. Public Television does not have the right to cover news on unequal terms.
