Se. 2, Ep. 6. The Last Refuge of the Church Raiders: Political Prisoner Narek Samsonyan
Narek Samsonyan, head of the "Civil Consciousness" NGO, founder of the AntiFake.am website, co-author and host of the "Imnemnimi" podcast, and currently a political prisoner, has published an article from the "Armavir" penitentiary institution:
"In recent days, I have been closely following the developments unfolding around the Church, the culmination of which was the failed assault by the pack of hyenas on the territory of the Mother See on December 18. The ringleader of the regime has turned the 'removal' of the Catholicos of All Armenians into a matter of 'life and death' for himself, and he discriminates against no means on this path.
By gathering 10 Lord-betraying bishops around him using various compromising materials, the ringleader will attempt to use them as tools against the Church to the very end. Once that tool is worn out, he will either discard them or publish the compromising material he holds against them. This is the essence of the regime established in Armenia. However, the fact that these 10 Lord-betrayers were prepared to even storm the Mother See was surprising and repulsive, even to me. It was even more repulsive to see how these 10 Lord-betrayers were accompanied by groups in civilian clothing from the NSS [National Security Service], the police, and other units. As for the rest of the wretchedness of this hyena-like attack, it was ensured by the scarce number of 'Tavros-Sapeyans' cursing in front of cameras, who were spewing profanities at those reprimanding them with such diligence, as if they were taking revenge on the regime’s ringleader for ending up in that situation.
Of course, the profanities voiced by the regime's 'soldiers' and the attempts to break the doors of the Mother See in the presence of the public do not, in any case, 'contain the elements' of hooliganism. Let me remind you that in our country, criticizing the regime and the famous 'buttocks' constitute an inseparable part of the crime of hooliganism.
Nevertheless, regardless of the titanic efforts invested, we can record that we are dealing with yet another failed attempt by the regime's ringleader. A major contribution to this failure was made by the faithful people who went to resist the raid on December 18, whose numbers were several times greater than the headcount of the 'Tavros-Sapeyans' and those who had forgotten the honor of their epaulets. It was the faithful people who, on that day, halted the regime's latest conspiracy against the Armenian Apostolic Church.
I express my full support to the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Catholicos of All Armenians in this nationwide battle to resist this hyena-ism. I am more than confident that the Lord-betrayers and their ringleader will not succeed in this battle, because the qualified majority of the Armenian people feel the disastrous nature of what is happening in their very cells and stand beside the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Catholicos of All Armenians.
It is not surprising (though very painful) that the National Security Service has become the ringleader’s primary tool for suppressing and persecuting opponents of the regime, both in this matter and generally in our country. It is painful to see the public operation to destroy the rich institutional structure I once knew—an operation which, I am sure, is being done deliberately by the regime’s ringleader to destroy the NSS as an institution as irreversibly as possible.
The point of no return for this destruction became visible from very close range when the regime's official party newspaper, posting a photo, wrote that it had received it from the NSS (here, the NSS had already become a source for a party rag), and that the 'document' posted there allegedly certifies that Archbishop Yezras is an agent of the Soviet KGB.
I wrote in more detail about the provision of such information to the party newspaper in my article in the Wednesday print edition of 'Hraparak' daily. I will only add here that only the regime's ringleader could allow himself a trick that is both more laughable and no better than petty swindling, not caring that by doing so, he not only makes himself a laughingstock but also destroys the primary toolkit of an entire institution. As for what was published regarding Archbishop Yezras, one only needs to say that the only crime is being a recruited agent of foreign special services—someone who, as they say, would do exactly the same things that the regime's ringleader is doing today.
Frankly speaking, when I heard that information on television, I did not fully believe its veracity. First, being a KGB agent during the Soviet Union years did not in any way mean being an agent of a foreign special service. Second, being an agent of foreign special services is high treason, and when the person sitting at the helm of the country says that there are agents of foreign special services in his country, it becomes a theater of the absurd, unless he is speaking about persons already convicted. Third, it is out of the question for a serious NSS to do such a thing—to pull such a document from the archive and give it to some media outlet—because possessing the archives of an agent network and making them public is a direct blow to the reputation of any special service.

Narek Samsonyan, chef de l'ONG « Conscience Civique », fondateur du site AntiFake.am, co-auteur et animateur du podcast « Imnemnimi », et prisonnier politique, a publié un article depuis l'établissement pénitentiaire d'« Armavir » :
« Ces derniers jours, je suis avec attention les développements autour de l'Église, dont le point culminant a été l'assaut raté de la horde de hyènes sur le territoire du Saint-Siège le 18 décembre. Le chef de file du régime a fait de l'« éviction » du Catholicos de tous les Arméniens une question de « vie ou de mort » pour lui-même, et il ne recule devant aucun moyen sur cette voie.
En rassemblant autour de lui 10 évêques ayant trahi le Seigneur à l'aide de divers kompromats (dossiers compromettants), le chef de file tentera de les utiliser comme des outils contre l'Église jusqu'au bout. Dès que cet outil sera usé, il les jettera ou publiera les documents compromettants qu'il détient contre eux. Telle est l'essence du régime établi en Arménie. Cependant, le fait que ces 10 traîtres étaient prêts à prendre d'assaut même le Saint-Siège était, même pour moi, surprenant et répugnant. Il était encore plus répugnant de voir comment ces 10 traîtres étaient accompagnés par des groupes en civil du SNS [Service national de sécurité], de la police et d'autres unités. Quant au reste de la misère de cette attaque de hyènes, elle était assurée par le petit nombre de « Tavros-Sapeyan » injuriant devant les caméras, qui proféraient des insultes contre ceux qui les réprimandaient avec un tel zèle, comme s'ils voulaient se venger du chef du régime pour s'être retrouvés dans cette situation.
Bien entendu, les insultes proférées par les « soldats » du régime et les tentatives de briser les portes du Saint-Siège en présence du public ne constituent en aucun cas les éléments du délit de hooliganisme. Je rappelle que dans notre pays, critiquer le régime et le fameux « derrière » constitue une partie indissociable du délit de hooliganisme.
Quoi qu'il en soit, indépendamment des efforts titanesques investis, nous pouvons constater que nous avons affaire à une nouvelle tentative échouée du chef du régime. Une contribution majeure à cet échec a été apportée par le peuple fidèle qui est allé résister au raid du 18 décembre, dont le nombre était plusieurs fois supérieur à celui des « Tavros-Sapeyan » et de ceux qui avaient oublié l'honneur de leurs épaulettes. C'est le peuple fidèle qui, ce jour-là, a stoppé le nouveau complot du régime contre l'Église apostolique arménienne.
J'exprime mon soutien total à l'Église apostolique arménienne et au Catholicos de tous les Arméniens dans cette bataille nationale pour résister à ces actes de hyènes. Je suis plus que confiant que les traîtres au Seigneur et leur chef de file ne réussiront pas dans cette bataille, car la majorité qualifiée du peuple arménien ressent dans ses cellules le caractère désastreux de ce qui se passe et se tient aux côtés de l'Église apostolique arménienne et du Catholicos.
Il n'est pas surprenant (bien que très douloureux) que le Service de sécurité nationale soit devenu l'outil principal du chef de file pour réprimer et persécuter les opposants au régime, tant dans cette affaire que dans notre pays en général. Il est douloureux de voir l'opération publique de destruction de la riche structure institutionnelle que j'ai connue, une opération qui, j'en suis sûr, est menée délibérément par le chef du régime afin de détruire le SNS en tant qu'institution de la manière la plus irréversible possible.
Le point de non-retour de cette destruction est devenu visible de très près lorsque le journal officiel du parti du régime, publiant une photo, a écrit qu'il l'avait reçue du SNS (ici, le SNS était déjà devenu une source pour une feuille de chou du parti), et que le prétendu « document » publié certifierait que l'archevêque Yezras est un agent du KGB soviétique.
J'ai écrit plus en détail sur la fourniture de telles informations au journal du parti dans mon article de l'édition imprimée de mercredi du quotidien « Hraparak ». J'ajouterai seulement ici que seul le chef du régime pouvait se permettre une ruse aussi risible et digne d'une petite escroquerie, se fichant éperdument du fait qu'en agissant ainsi, non seulement il devient la risée de tous, mais il détruit aussi l'outillage principal de toute une institution. Quant à ce qui a été publié concernant l'archevêque Yezras, il suffit de dire que le seul crime est d'être un agent recruté par des services spéciaux étrangers, quelqu'un qui, comme on dit, ferait exactement les mêmes choses que ce que fait aujourd'hui le chef du régime.
Honnêtement, lorsque j'ai entendu cette information à la télévision, je n'ai pas cru totalement à sa véracité. Premièrement, être un agent du KGB pendant les années de l'Union soviétique ne signifiait en aucun cas être un agent d'un service spécial étranger. Deuxièmement, être un agent de services spéciaux étrangers est une haute trahison, et lorsque la personne à la tête du pays dit qu'il y a des agents de services spéciaux étrangers dans son pays, cela devient un théâtre de l'absurde, tant qu'il ne s'agit pas de personnes déjà condamnées. Troisièmement, il est exclu qu'un SNS sérieux fasse une telle chose — sortir un tel document des archives et le donner à un média — car posséder les archives d'un réseau d'agents et les rendre publiques est un coup direct porté à la réputation de tout service spécial.
