Hunger Strike, Day 4: Regarding Conditions of Detention: Political Prisoner Narek Samsonyan
Warm greetings from the punishment cell block of the "Armavir" Penitentiary Institution. I was informed that the post by my defense attorney, Ruben Melikyan, regarding my transfer to a punishment cell to "secure the process" of my hunger strike, has caused concern for many. In this regard, I want to tell everyone that for me, it is far more honorable to conduct this hunger strike in these conditions not provided for by law. Every subsequent step taken against me by these authorities is, by its nature, more despicable, more petty, and further reveals their fears. But they do not realize that after every step they take, I feel stronger and become more convinced of the righteousness of the path I have chosen.
I also read the commentary provided by the Penitentiary Service, and in short, I want to say that it is not true that the conditions in the punishment cells do not differ from those in the other cells. I am not complaining about any conditions; for me, being in a 4-square-meter cell is greater freedom than the daily life of power experienced by any of them. So, dear people, be at ease on my behalf; I have no complaints regarding my health, my will is in place, my determination is unwavering, and resigning myself to mere captivity is impossible.
From the moment I decided to declare a hunger strike, no action by this anti-democratic regime can surprise me, let alone instill fear.
Stay well. Freedom to all political prisoners!
Determination, Self-sacrifice, Victory!!!
