Political Imprisonment: Season 2, ep. 1
Good evening to the people who love us very much, and especially to those who do not.
As you already know, Vazgen and I are being subjected to yet another political persecution. This time, however, the degree of absurdity of the "case" is ten times higher, and the scale of the repression has not been limited to us, culminating in the effective shutdown of the Antifake.am website.
Yes, my dears, the leader of the pack of hyenas, who to this day gives fiery speeches about the closure of the "A1+" channel, yesterday effectively suspended the activities of Antifake.am by confiscating all of its equipment, including speakers, tripods, and cameras. This is a new milestone in the suppression of freedom of speech and the press by the Nikol-era pack of hyenas, which, I am sure, will be included in the volumes of criminal cases against them in the future.
I want to briefly touch upon the accusation—specifically, the "crime" attributed to me: I am accused of committing "hooliganism" by using the word "buttocks." Investigator Gor Davtyan considered the word "buttocks" to be an element of the crime of hooliganism, and today I am in the "Armavir" penitentiary solely for that word. I am sharing this small episode so you can understand the pettiness of the scoundrel who called us "dog's puppies" in public and received a public response the next day, and how the investigative bodies of the Republic of Armenia are held hostage in their hands, enduring continuous acts that humiliate their professional dignity.
In any case, the moral and political character of alen simonyan does not change with this episode; it merely adds another incident a level lower than what has been done before. Besides arresting Vazgen and me and stripping Antifake of its equipment, the pack of hyenas has also arrested my teammates—in this case, my brothers-in-arms—journalist Davit Fidanyan and my assistant and cameraman, Ishkhan Khosrovyan. Ishkhan Khosrovyan is currently released from detention. I am confident that the guys consider it a great honor to be subjected to repression by this pack of hyenas and do not need words of encouragement, but I want to wish strength and courage to Davit's family members and express my and our team's unequivocal support to them. I am sure their arrests are aimed at obstructing our media activities, which we will not allow. I’am also grateful to the lawyers who have taken on the defense of Davit and Ishkhan: Varazdat Harutyunyan and Karlos Avagyan.
I also want to thank all the individuals and organizations who have supported our team and us over the past two days. I want to express special thanks to Samvel Tadevosyan, who purchased the necessary technical equipment with his own funds for Antifake to continue its operations. To our other sponsors: I am deeply touched by your support and readiness, and I am sure that you will now support/sponsor our team with even greater enthusiasm.
About us and our families: I am sure you have no doubt that we are taking all this with a smirk and that it only tempers and strengthens us. Our families are not frightened or broken by this either. I assure you all that our people stand most firmly by our side—from parents and wives to our young children. We all realize why we are subjected to these hardships, and in the future, history will pass its judgment on both us and our families, and on the pack of hyenas that represses us, along with their investigators, prosecutors, and judges. In any case, I know that I will always look my children in the eye with my head held high. I do not know what they, for example, will tell their children about these days while signing off on this criminal-political absurdity, but I know for sure what I will tell mine.
Stay strong and continue to fight against the treason and treacherous actions of this pack of hyenas. Our generations must not lose their homeland.
P.S. I learned that ArmComedy's Sunday broadcast has not yet been officially canceled. Let me remind you that on Sunday, ArmComedy's guest will be alen simonyan, on whose false denunciation the journalists of Antifake.am were arrested, we were imprisoned for two months, and Antifake.am was shut down. After all this, I will be forced to consider the act of providing airtime to alen simonyan as a justification for what happened to us and for the actions of that scoundrel. I hope our colleagues will take these obvious facts into account and will not taint their broadcast by positively presenting a villain who insults people and then has them arrested and shuts down media outlets after receiving a response.
